November 22^nd , 2007, AIDIMA organised in Valencia the IX edition of the COSMU 07 – the Habitat International Congress – where all advantages of using and adopting the ISO 10303-236 “funStep” were presented to a wide audience.

About 60 furniture related companies participated at the session entitled “Applying Information Technologies in the furniture industry” where Ms. María José Núñez (INNOVAFUN project manager) made a presentation on specific IT applications able to address the new furniture consumption requirements over the next 10 years.

Mr. Fredrik Larsson, from DESINGMARKET.COM, and partner in the INNOVAFUN project, spoke about the new ISO funStep based working modalities between furniture companies while Mr. Mino Politi, from FEDERMOBILI, another partner of INNOVAFUN, described the experience of Italian companies in using innovative business processes for data exchange between companies in the furniture sector.

Interesting questions were raised during the session and the audience has benefited from the experience of tangible practical cases of using the ISO funStep Standard in the furniture business.

INNOVAFUN project under Europe INNOVA Initiative is creating industrial consensus on the innovative funStep standard-based solution, facilitating the integration of open standards in the furniture industry. The funStep standard is acknowledged by many SMEs as a catalyst for the innovation in this industrial sector.
