INNOVAFUN has the funStep Interest Group FSIG-, with more than 600 members, as its basis. All funStep services are around the ISO 10303-236, an ISO standard for catalogue data exchanged in furniture sector.

The interest group represents the support of hundreds of SMEs that will become part of a consolidated network that uses standards as a tool for innovative business solutions. FSIG has been developing the standard ISO10303-236: Application Protocol for the exchange of furniture data, (the funStep standard) with the support of the European Commission. Nowadays, funStep is acknowledged as a catalyst for the innovation in this industrial sector. Although targeted to the furniture industry, INNOVAFUN will deliver results to be used as a reference in other SME-based industry.

INNOVAFUN will build industrial consensus on the innovative funStep standard-based solution, facilitating the integration of open standards in the furniture industry, identifying new products and services for a better improvement in business processes among furniture stakeholders.

Activities

INNOVAFUN will:

• identify and assess common business process requirements.
  
  
• monitor the existing standards and innovative solutions in the global furniture industry sector.
  
  
• provide practical guidance for implementation of standard-based business practices and solutions to improve performance of the furniture value chain.

Although targeted to the furniture industry, INNOVAFUN will deliver results to be used as a reference in other SME-based industries.
