The application of standards in the shipbuilding sector is crucial for the development of European innovative business practices and services. It will enable the creation of a European Shipbuilding Area and enhance vertical and horizontal cooperation given to the competitive environment with the Far East.
Euromind envisages to support the set-up of a pan-European coordination of National initiatives on standards in order to enable the exchange of best practices in data transmission and e- communication within the shipbuilding supply chain.
Coordination activities comprise the identification of most promising open standards and facilitation of their use in Best Practice studies, in horizontal integration (cooperating shipyards) and vertical integration (in the supply chain).
